We are committed to providing the best possible environment for men ready to engage in recovery. Therefore, we stand by the value of quality over quantity and offer the most comfortable rooms available which include full size single beds. There are no bunkbeds or crowded rooms.
Each individual wanting to become a house member must complete the following steps:
1. Download and complete the application leaving no question unanswered.
2. Interview with house manage (Phone calls for those who are incarcerated).
3. Meet current house members for final approval (Phone calls for those who are incarcerated).
There are options available for those who have financial difficulty when getting sober. Call Us to discuss the options that best meet your needs. It is important to know that each house member is responsible for paying their own way once being accepted to the house.
We have set up a PayPal account for friends and family who are willing to help men with the initial cost. You can to to the Online Payment page and make a contribution (a 3.49% service charge will need to be added to payments). Please note that each house member is responsible for paying their own way once being accepted to the house.
Once monthly financial expenses and house prudent reserve is met, all remaining funds are distributed equally back to current house members. House members have the option to hold distributions in a savings account to prepare them for their transition from Foundation House. Depending on occupancy, expenses, and prudent reserve, house members can receive $50 to $100 off the regular house dues. Also, as a cooperative, current Foundation House members are included in the financial planning process.
We require regular and active attendance in a 12-Step program to include working the 12-Steps with a sponsor. We maintain a high level of accountability among our peer network, and we provide a supportive environment for men who are committed to living healthy, clean and sober. If you are not ready to join us in a new way of life as outlined, this house is not for you. Those who choose otherwise after joining Foundation House are not eligible to stay.
Although some people do relapse before obtaining sustained sobriety, it is vital to know that it IS NOT part of the recovery process. It is however part of some individual experiences. Anyone who relapses while staying at Foundation House must leave the house for 24 to 72 hours, they are supported through that period and can return. This is to avoid any disruption for other house members. If anyone brings alcohol or drugs onto the property of Foundation House they will leave the house immediately with or without assistance of law enforcement and are not eligible to return or reapply at anytime in the future.
Foundation House for men who are active in recovery doing their part to live in a quality environment.
We are here to help men get sober! A traditional 12-Step program remains the most effective approach to sobriety. Although some of us do favor organized religion in addition to a 12-Step program, and hope that you can come to lay aside any prejudice, house members have the right to choose their spiritual path. House members are not required to participate in a specific faith. The only thing we will be clear about is that there is a God and you are not Him.
We recognize that some people require medical care when getting sober. We are not a detox facility or inpatient treatment program. Everyone who comes to the house must be detoxed and stable before joining us. Not everyone will require inpatient drug and alcohol treatment but that is often beneficial prior to engaging in an action based life in recovery. We are here to assist if you are unsure if you need outside help.
